You Know What Really Types My Keys???
You Know What Really Types My Keys???
Basically I'm writing this entry as an online venting device. Recently there has been some stuff on my mind that i was keeping inside but i feel through this blog i can vent.
This weeks vent is centered around the new upcoming generation of rappers ie Soulja Boy and others. But before u say "Oh he's a hater or bashing the south," look im a fan of all music except for country but in these days in rap music I've noticed a growing trend to basically say whatever comes to ya head and spit ova a catchy beat. Its like there is no attention span left in the game anymore, everything is quick in and out, cut and dry. (Make Money Nigga!!!) Not to say that i have a problem with make some money off my creativeness but i just feel like you have an obligation to the listeners who take in what u say to them on the regular.
I mean when i first caught wind of this whole down south movement thing i thought it would be for a short time but it kept growing and growing...
Look I have no problem with the adults who had their shots as far jeezy, lil' wayne, t.i., luda. and i cant tell a grown man to chill out, but these lil niggas are so wide nosed out here and wanting the glamorous life and what not. I feel that yeah alot these people live different lives and come from different backgrounds but whats wit all this dance music and then calling it rap cuz its not. Its exactly what it is dance music and you are not a rapper you are a "Dance Instructor."
Now that the personal opinion has been out there, here is my other side of the argument. Now im not stupid to that fact that money is really hard to come by these day for anyone especially with less employment and job qualifications, so if a guy or girl can find a honest way to make money then so be it, but to say we sell out all of our morals and pride for a dollar i would have to disagree. If you have nothing good to say then stay in school and try to make something out yaself, dont just quit for a quick buck. You can make good music without looking stupid ie weird dances that look awfully like slave cakewalk(look it up) and talkin' bout sellin drugs for a living.
"we are killing our own people to make a dollar."
Can we sell music without selling out? Honestly you tell me!!!

I definitely agree that Kanye West is one of the most creative artist on the music scene today. Another thing I like about him is the fact that he does not seem to cater to media by portraying and saying one thing on camera and then doing another off camera. He speaks his mind despite who may or may not like it especially when it comes to politics and the state of black America and the black male. What say you?
Your blog site is awesome. Much success to you in the future and keep venting...positively that is!!!!
Another thing? You talk about this southern thing...are you from the South? I am...you have to understand where these lil n*****'s come from..its a totally different scene and atmosphere down there...I am from Miami and I can tell you the whole ap thing is different from New York and the West coast rap thing....eventually it took a while for people to grasp it but it did catch on and as far as it being rap or dance music it all boils down to selling records and making money, period.
I agree with you 100 percent. New rap isn't rap. Its a shame because I love rap music, but acts like Soulja boy make a mockery of what is music. But acts like that only get a 15-minute limelight. People remember Jay-Z, Biggie, Pac, Nas and real music forever. They aren't going to remember Soulja Boy in 2015. Rap now doesn't have a message except, make money, get women, and drive a nice car. Most of it is catchy, yeah, and that's what selling it... but you still can't classify it as real music. Hopefully hip hop will come back and people will stop entertaining the garbage.
